SO MUCH QUILTY EDUCATION COMING YOUR WAY!

Happy New Year!

Oh wait! It’s already February.

In the blink of an eye, January is gone! It’s so hard to believe how fast time can fly by, especially this time of year when most of us are stuck inside due to bad weather.

Well I hope that you are feeling well rested after the Holiday get-togethers, shopping, cooking, baking and merry-making, and that you’re looking forward to a new year of opportunities.

I know that here at Forever Quilting, I’m so excited about the coming year, as I look over my list of courses that I am developing for you.

On that note, please take a moment to answer a few questions that I have about offering quilting courses. It’s so important to me to offer information to you that you want and will find helpful!  It’s a quick one, I promise! You can find my survey here:

The first educational opportunity that I’ll be launching this year is a free Free Motion Quilting Challenge: Quilting on the Lines.  (Yes, it’s really free!) This challenge will launch on February 13st and will spotlight 9 different stencils and how to mark and stitch them continuously. Stencils like the Curvy Grid, the On Point Square Grid, and Doing the Wave.

I’ll be demonstrating these quilting techniques on both a longarm and a domestic machine.  Learning to quilt these grids continuously is a great way to prepare for learning cross-hatching and you’ll be getting a lot of tips on using rulers too!

Even though this is a free challenge, please follow the link to get access to the PDF’s that go with the videos.  In addition, our Machine Quilting with Dorie Facebook Group will be available for posting your progress and building our quilty community.

We have some new items in our Forever Quilting store!  Be sure to check out the Quilted Pineapple curved ruler set and straight ruler set. Plus some new Ice Dyed fabrics by Debra Linker. You can find these  @ forever-quilting.com!

I’m hearing so much these days about getting our sewing rooms clean and clear so that we can keep making all of our fabulous projects.  Last month, I bought a white organizer cabinet from Michael’s to store my rulers.  Black shelf liner fabric is just what I needed to be able to see my rulers clearly!

In addition, I’m working on moving some of my older longarm supplies out to make room for another cabinet for tools and supplies that I am using.  I have a large supply of paper pantographs that I am no longer using and plan to move that system out to make room for the thread that needs a new home in my space!  What kinds of organizational plans do you have this month?

Getting organized will help as we move into Quilt Show Season. We’ll be vending at the AQS Branson show March 22-25, 2023.  We’ll have our APQS Millie with Quilt Path available for test driving, as well as all of our Forever Quilting products – stencils, books, pounce powder, patterns and notions.  Following the Branson AQS Show, we’ll also be vending at the AQS Paducah Quilt Show April 26-29, 2023.  Be sure to stop by our booth at these great shows to watch demos and learn all about free motion quilting!

Just a reminder, before we go on the road, we've got our free Free Motion Quilting Challenge: Quilting On the Lines coming up that will be posted inside the Quilting Academy-Extras library, starting February 13th .  You will also be able to watch it on my YouTube channel so subscribe today to be notified when it's available.

We’re looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Forever Quilting,

Dorie
